You never know who’s watching.

You never know who models his or her life after you.  Sure, there are the ten percent who make it clear, but like icebergs, the other ninety are quiet. Below the surface and virtually invisible, but no doubt there.

All the while watching… for a path to follow… a faith to imitate… or a life that’s contagious.

So walk your path authentically. Believe hopefully.  Live abundantly, all the while leaving clues for searching hearts to find.

Because somebody’s watching.  And they’re following you.

+++++++

You never know who’s listening.

You never know who may be crushed or inspired, deceived or encouraged by your words.  For every one who responds to you with words of their own, another nine simply adjust, respond, resist or believe.

All the while listening… for clear direction… enlightening truth… or an infusion of courage and joy.

So speak your words simply. Communicate truthfully.  Express yourself lovingly, all the while leaving gestures of kindness for starving hearts to find.

Because somebody’s listening.  And they’re hearing you.

+++++++

You never know who’s reaching.

You never know who may looking to you as their Prime Source for life feedback. For every one who informs you that you helped or hurt them, another nine (or ninety-nine) respond to you in the hidden places of their lives.

All the while reaching… for positive affirmation… honest redirection… or the will to face another day.

So touch other lives sensitively.  Respond thoughtfully.  Move slowly through the crowd and connect, however briefly, with as many people as you can.

Because somebody’s reaching.  And they’re connecting with you.

+++++++

All of that and more is why only Heaven keeps score.

You and I are too dense to know what lies in our wake.

But one day you’ll discover who changed the world because they followed your path for a season.

One day you’ll hear how your words impacted another heart, for better or worse.

One day you’ll see how one simple point of connection – one cup of cold water given in His name or a careless slight – became the motivating force for a whirlwind of purpose or a vortex of despair.

And on that day, as others before and after, you will declare, “I never knew.”
