You’re feeling disappointed or rejected,
Lonely or loveless,
And even though you know better than to believe all that in your head,
You’re too lost in “to-do’s” or “he-did’s” to even recognize your own heart.
Time to come and find your rest.
You’re feeling restless or impatient,
Guilty or angry,
And even though you know you live face-to-grace,
You’re too consumed with how far you have to go to recognize whose job it is get you there.
Time to come and find your rest.
You’re feeling anxious or worried,
Burdened or exhausted,
And even though you know it isn’t your load to carry,
You’re too loaded with responsibilities and cares to recognize that you’ve picked them up again.
Time to come and find your rest.
To find your rest is to go to that place of heart-deep tenderness
Where you remember again who you are as His beloved.
To allow Him to delight in you and rejoice over you…
To come away for no other purpose than to be with Him.
There in that place of honor you will reconnect with your true identity.
And there you will find your rest.
To find your rest is to go to that place of deep mercy
Where you experience again what He has done for your guilt.
To bring yourself face to face with Him in all His holiness
To run to a throne of grace for no other purpose than to touch your Helper.
There in that place of cleansing you will rediscover what it means to be stainless.
And there you will find your rest.
To find your rest is to go to that place of prevailing peace
Where you hear again His voice that calls the storms to be still.
To respond to His call to come to Him, even on violent seas…
To cast all your cares on Him because you are doubtless that He cares more.
There in that place of stillness you will rehear the sound of His song of peace.
And there you will find your rest.
To find your rest is to go to that place of abundant life
Where you experience again that Breath that makes you a living soul.
To wait upon Him in faith that He will renew your strength…
To hide yourself in the shadow of His ability to carry you powerfully.
There in that place of filling you will reawaken your sense of destiny and purpose.
And there you will find your rest.
To find your rest is to go to that place of living water
Where you are free to drink deeply again of His truth, life and way.
To present to Him the broken pieces of a frenzied life…
To surrender to His passionate desire to restore your soul.
There in that place of healing you will reimagine how beautiful you are to Him.
And there you will find your rest.
