Dock Empty ChairWhen you’re seven kinds of busy and 21 kinds of tired…

When you’re pulled in so many different directions you need a compass to find the bathroom…

When it’s bedtime and you just remembered that you forgot suppertime…

It’s time for a different tune.  It’s time for His song of peace.

When you speak all day with the language of engagement…

When you find yourself panting even while you’re sitting still…

When you’re feeling guilty because you’re not checking something off that stupid list…

It’s time for a different tune. It’s time for His song of peace.

When you haven’t lost passion, but feel taken for granted…

When you find yourself tiptoeing between relational land mines…

When you’re carrying everybody else’s wounds and aching for someone to carry yours…

It’s time for a different tune. It’s time for His song of peace.

Peaceful DandelionYou’ll hear the refrains of His song of peace when you take the time to be reminded that He has set – rooted and grounded – His love on you

You’ll recognize the rhythms of His song of peace when you remember with faith that He absolutely delights in you.

You’ll discover new melodies of His song of peace when you come away from the noise riot and immerse yourself again in the awareness of His presence.

Aren’t you ready for a different tune? Isn’t it time for His song of peace?

You’ll touch new harmonies in His song of peace when you bring your brokenness and guilt to His mercy seat for forgiveness.

You’ll feel a new unison in His song of peace when you come to a place of being, as it were, face to face in presence.

You’ll compose new symphonies of possibility when you fully embrace once again the stainless place of grace on which you stand.

Aren’t you ready for a different tune? Isn’t it time for His song of peace?

You’re hearing His song of peace when you taste and see that the Lord is good, and that His goodness still finds you beautiful in His eyes.

You’re hearing His song of peace when you rediscover that He authentically cares for you and welcomes your cares and concerns as His own.

You’re hearing His song of peace when you trade your labor for His and feel the rest once again that His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Aren’t you ready for a different tune?  Isn’t it time for His song of peace?

Blowing DandelionWhen you’re singing His song of peace, you’re drinking deeply of His indwelling presence and once again becoming a “living soul” as He breathes His life in you.

When you’re singing His song of peace, you’re soaring with restored strength, being carried by His Spirit again like the wind carries an eagle to new heights.

When you’re singing His song of peace, you’re shielded in the shadow of His matchless strength, and all those disparate parts of your life are made whole again.

Aren’t you ready for a different tune?

Isn’t it time for His beautiful song of peace?

Brought tears to my eyes today, these words. There’s such numbness in (spiritual) drought, yet He longs to rain down on us. . . if we would just get ourselves out of the way. . . and sing. Thank you, Dr. Wood
