Flour Power: Seven More Half-Baked Ideas I’m Still Working On

Here are seven more random things I’ve had in my oven lately.  Did I mention it’s really random?

Why is it that some people can believe the gospel or trust God simply and quickly, and others require more… either convincing or extended confession?  It’s all about what it takes to activate their faith.

First sign your wife may not be ready to give a statement at the accident scene:  When asked by the EMT if she knew who the president was, she said, “Osama bin Laden… No… Wait… That’s not right… I don’t remember – I just know I don’t like him.”  (She’s doing fine now.)

“Grace” is not a campaign slogan.  It is the most beautiful Human who ever existed, becoming the most scorned, repulsive human who ever lived, so I could become as righteous and beautiful as he is.  Nothing about that gives anybody a reason to boast, except in Him.

The other day I was re-reading a recent post that has the hysterically funny (to me) memory of the guy pulling the sheet over his mother’s head and her heart kicking back up again.  I was laughing at it all over again when my wife walked by and asked what was so funny.  Laughing as she left the room, she said, “I swear, I think you enjoy your own writing more than anybody else.”

Guilty.

You know those bacteria-killing potions that promise to kill 99.9% of all bacteria?  What the heck is the 0.1% that lives to see another day?  And why?  And is somebody gonna make a scary movie about it one day?  I can see it now… Zero Point One:  They Know You’re Alone.
