They say timing is everything.
And it certainly matters.
But “everything” is a big word.
Timing without preparation, for example, leads to failure at best, calamity at worst.
And perfect timing without decisive action only leads to lost opportunities.
So while it’s important to know when to take the shot or pull the trigger…
It’s just as vital to be ready to do it.
Batteries charged.
Vision focused.
All systems “go.”
Nobody but you will remember the masterpieces you could have created had you just been ready.
They’ll only remember what you created when you were prepared…
and took action.

Loved the photos and the inspiration, Andy! How in the world did you get that close to a deer? 🙂
Martha Orlando´s last blog post ..Reunion
Riding along mid afternoon on a lonely stretch of road. I had already seen some does on the right side, and saw his backside on the left – assumed it was another doe. Then he reared up and looked around. Fortunately I had my camera with zoom on the front seat next to me. He stood there and posed for me for a while, then trotted off.
Oh… you mean the DOE!
We were staying a house in Ruidoso, NM, and they came wandering by. I cut up an apple and started tossing them pieces, and this one doe was more and more willing to get close. So I fed her by hand. Then I thought, “hmmm” – put a slice in my mouth and decided to see what she would do. 🙂
